Youth exchanges

Youth encounters as a format of international youth work involve an informal educational program for children and young people. During an international youth exchange, groups of young people from two, three or more countries meet in one of those countries for a period of several days to several weeks (usually 1 to 3 weeks).

The focus of these events is on getting to know each other and engaging in intercultural exchange. The reason for and connecting element of the meeting can be any of a wide variety of topics from areas such as politics, sport, art, culture, etc. There is often a return exchange, so that a given group is often both guest and host. There are no limits to the creativity of the formats: whether it's a skate camp, a collaborative international music festival or a work camp - it can be anything that suits the topic and the young people!
